Adobe Completes Its Acquisition of Topaz Labs, Keeps the Brand Independent

Adobe announced on September 23, 2026 that it had completed its acquisition of Topaz Labs, the US-based company known for its AI-powered image and video upscaling tools, roughly three months after the two companies first announced the deal on June 25, 2026. The acquisition brings under Adobe's umbrella one of the most influential companies in AI-driven media enhancement, whose technology won a 2025 Emmy Award for engineering achievement in video processing.

Adobe said Topaz Labs will continue to operate as an independent brand with its existing product lineup, while Topaz CEO Eric Yang will join Adobe's Digital Video and Audio team. Topaz's image and video upscaling tools had already been integrated into Adobe Firefly since July 2025, and Adobe said the completed deal paves the way for deeper integration of Topaz's technology — including its proprietary Neurostream video-processing engine — into tools such as Photoshop and Premiere Pro.
